    Plaintiff sued for damages to her home due to a broken pipe in her kitchen. Citizens grossly underpaid the Plaintiff’s claim. After extending coverage on the claim, the insurer attempted to assert that it had satisfied its obligations to Plaintiff. Citizens claimed it did not owe any more payments because Plaintiff had not yet made any repairs. The case went to trial almost four years later, after extensive litigation. After the Jury heard the evidence from both sides, it found in favor of Plaintiff and awarded $20,000 in damages as a result of the kitchen claim.

    Plaintiff sued for damages due to a kitchen leak that happened in August 2017. She reported it to her insurance carrier, ASI Assurance Corp., and after their initial investigation they denied her whole claim based on vague allegations of wear and tear and defective workmanship. She sued ASI in February 2018, because her plumbing leak should should have been covered. After a year of litigation Plaintiff went to trial and the jury found that the insurance company made the wrong decision and awarded her the full amount of her estimate. Although client had to wait long for her day in court, she believes it was worth the battle.

    Plaintiffs sued for damage in their home from a broken supply line in the kitchen in May 2015. Citizens agreed that the loss should be covered, paid for the policy required water mitigation services, but refused to extend to payment to the homeowner for the damages caused by the the loss. Citizens argued that a claim previously reported by the Mattis and wear and tear on the home over the years relieved it of its responsibility to pay for the damages. After listening to testimony and arguments and reviewing evidence for over 3 days, the jury found in favor of the Plaintiffs and determined that the Mattis’s should have been paid for the damages from the loss.
